Hi, I’m Ali. I specialise in finding stunning vintage Observer’s Books, as well as charming vintage Penguin Books and ephemera. This is my website where I am creating lots of collector’s guides and research on the beautiful books that I find. There is no sales page here – that’s what my Etsy shop is for! This website is simply for research and guidance on book collecting, with a particular leaning towards books published by Frederick Warne & Co Ltd and Penguin Books. Warne were responsible for publishing the Wayside and Woodland Books, as well as Observer’s Books and Beatrix Potter’s children’s books. Penguin Books were the publishers of beautifully designed vintage classics. I love sourcing vintage pieces that I would love to own, as well as tracking down pretty and sustainable packaging, but my favourite part of selling on Etsy and running this website is helping people to complete their own Observer’s Book collections!

Blackberry Lane Vintage is based in the south of England, and I work from the loft of our Victorian house. I practice yoga regularly, have a very beautiful spaniel, and spend my spare time hanging about on river banks, as my children love kayaking. I have three amazing boys who are growing up fast, a passion for all things vintage and beautiful, and a desire to continue sharing gorgeous vintage finds.
